Kaldi is a small and cozy bar located on Laugavegur 20B (entrance is from Klapparstigur - side street). As the name implies Kaldi bar mainly serves Kaldi beer, a product of Árskógastrandur brewery but you can also enjoy wine and other stronger spirits as well. It’s not a spacey place but adds it up with warm character and smart design. Kaldi is a popular meeting point among locals for a couple of beers over a conversation. Atmosphere is easy and mellow with low key music in the background. The bar tends to get a bit more crowded during late nights and weekend’s as number of guests increases.

Ölstofan or the “Ale house” primarily focuses on beer (domestic and imported), ranging from 20-30 brands, generally offering a bit lower prices than most other local pubs. In collaboration with Borg brewery, Ölstofan developed their own household beer - “Bríó”. Bríó is a pilsner/lager beer that has won numerous of international awards, including 1st place in the most prestige “World beer award” in 2012 beating over 4000 products. Bríó now has become one of the most popular beer in Iceland and can be found at most bars in Reykjavík as well as the local spirit store - Vínbúðin. Ölstofan is a pub where main focus is on two things - drinking and smoking, and therefore is usually well attended among local artists and bohems. Smoking is not allowed in bars in Iceland, but Ölstofan found a solution by connecting an outhouse to the facility with fully equipped heating system - smart right. Mainly attended by people over thirty.

Skúli Craft Bar
Skúli is a smart and elegant craft bar which offers variety of local beers from microbreweries in Iceland as well as selective imported craft beers. There are always several interesting drafts on the menu to pick from but you can also enjoy a bottle beer of your liking. If you’re having a hard time deciding which brand to go for you can order a sample palette with 6 different types of beer. The atmosphere is a bit upscale but still calm and relaxed. Most of the beers are served in smaller glasses/dozes and tend to be more pricier than what comes around, but totally worth it though.

English pub is located in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. The pub seeks influence to its reputable name where design and surroundings reflect the local atmosphere in English pub culture. Mikeller & Friends Reykjavík
In 2006 Mikkel Borg Bjergsø a danish math and physics teacher started making experiments with hops, malt and yeast in his kitchen in Copenhagen. Today Mikkeller microbrewery exports it’s products to over 40 countries around the world. Mikkeller and Friends Reykjavík opended in 2015 on Hverfisgata 12. The bar is located upstairs with Hverfisgata 12 pizza place downstairs. The bar is a nice addition to the beer culture that has been developing in Reykjavík over recent years and was gladly welcomed by local beer enthusiastics. The bar has over 20 types of beers on tap with need collection of IPA beers. They usually serve their beer in smaller signature glasses - which can enhance the experience while tasting different brews. It’s a smartly decorated bar with retro characteristics and laid back atmosphere.
