Reykjavik Culture night (now a full day event) was held for the 22nd time on Saturday 20th of August this summer. Culture night - first held in 1996 and since then has become the most popular festival in Reykjavik with over 100.000 visitors enjoying hundreds of organized events.

The Culture night marks the start of the city’s cultural year where; museums, theaters and other established organizations reveal their program for the annual “culture” year. Culture night is a melting pot of events that span wide range of the cultural flora in Reykjavik; art shows, concerts, performances, galleries, design displays, food events and more.

Stores, exhibition rooms and streets fill up with creative and energetic vibe, transmitting a unique atmosphere around the city during the daily festival. The schedule starts around noon and ends close to midnight, peaking with it’s stunning fireworks display - closing the festival with a bang.
